Firing Euclid's C-Finder will result in a five-second delay and an animated sequence on the weapon's display before the impact. The C-Finder is a handheld rangefinder linked to an orbiting laser weapon, the ARCHIMEDES II. Max ultimately came across the C-Finder and picked it up, mistaking it for a toy, and began chasing his friend Stacey around Freeside with it. After acquiring the C-Finder, the man ended up in Freeside, where he tried to remove his slave collar but ultimately caused it to detonate and kill him. This theory turned out to be true, as sometime after Vault 21 was opened and turned into a hotel, Sarah Weintraub had acquired and then sold the C-Finder to a man who was under the " persuasion" of Father Elijah to purchase it. The chapter's elder at the time, Father Elijah, theorized that a scavenger acquired it prior to their arrival and sold it on the New Vegas Strip. When a chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel occupied HELIOS One and discovered the Archimedes program, they found that the device was no longer at HELIOS. Euclid's C-Finder was designed and developed by Poseidon Energy before the War as a targeting device for the ARCHIMEDES II orbital laser platform.
